Tokashiki Zine was created to accompany my exhibition Tokashiki in October, 2019. The zine was self-published and hand bound using wrapped-back and Japanese stab binding techniques. Between each wrapped-back page a piece of Japanese rice paper (calligraphy paper) is inserted to make the pages more opaque but still delicate and translucent. Tokashiki photographs were taken while I was living and working in Japan between 2013 and 2016. The exhibition was well received and the zine was stocked in The Fruitmarket's bookshop, The Bookmarket.
